Tall Pines Worker Notice Nov 24 15

Tall Pines Worker Notice Nov. 24, 2015

This will be the final pre-event full group notice to workers of the 2015 Rally of the Tall Pines.

Today I drove most of the stages. The public roads ranged from clear gravel to snow covered. The forest roads were entirely snow-covered. The road surface was frozen, but the frost has not penetrated far. The forecast is calling for rain on Thursday & Friday, then cold on Friday night. It will be typical Tall Pines  – you won’t know what the driving conditions will be until you get up Saturday morning and competitors will be debating to the last minute what tires to put on.

Most of you have checked your Worker Assignments and a number of changes have been made. We have also made some adjustments due to volunteers dropping out and new ones registering. As of today, we are just comfortable for total workers. Hopefully there will be no more dropouts.

Note that both the Worker Assignment list for Saturday and the meeting times & locations notice have been updated on the website. The links are
xxxxx
This list is a bit behind because I was in Bancroft all day. Keep checking for an updated version.
The Meeting Locations list with meeting times is attached.
If you have any difficulty accessing the link, contact us directly at   worker_registration@tallpinesrally.com
For the HAM operators, the main frequency for the weekend will be 147.285+ with a tone of 118.8. The two other repeater frequencies are 146.610- with a tone of 100.0, and 147.000 (no tone). Simplex frequencies are 146.520, 146.550 and 146.580. The solar repeater is not functioning. Be sure to have them all programmed in your radio.

For any further changes, please contact me directly by email at ross@tallpines rally.com, by phone or text.

The Thursday volunteers should all pretty well now what you are doing. If not, we will sort it out when you arrive. The assignment list posted now shows a lot, but not all of the Friday placements and many of you received news by email. Any others will also be sorted out when you arrive. See Greg McGrath. No matter what, I assure that we do need you, so show up on Friday and see Greg in the Worker registration Area. He will advise you of your assignment(s) for Friday and will also be able to answer any questions you may have.

Meeting times for special groups on Friday –

Early Recce marshalling – see Greg McGrath at 6:40 AM in the Control Room at Rally HQ

Second Recce meeting – see Greg McGrath at 8:15 at Rally HQ in the Worker Registration Area or when you arrive at Rally HQ.

Registration – meet Larry Flint at 1:00 PM inside Rally HQ.

Tech Inspection – meet Steve van Rees at 1:00 at the Tech garage (big shop building behind M & M ESSO).

Shakedown – meet Doug Hollands at 4:30 at the north end of the ESSO/Pinestar Restaurant parking lot on Hwy 62 S in Bancroft.

E-timing seminar (all are welcome)  – meet Darin Mayes in the Zamboni building over by the ice rink behind Rally HQ at 7:00 PM.

Course Car & Operations meeting – meet Ross 7:30 PM downstairs in Rally HQ.

Friday 9:00 P.M. General Worker Meeting in the main room at Rally HQ.
Lots of giveaways including two HAM radios.

There will be a food concession at Rally HQ in the front kitchen area – will be open Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. They will be serving coffee, tea, juice, water, pop, soup, pulled pork on a bun, chili, ham & cheese, egg muffins, muffins & tarts.

Be sure to attend the post-rally feast at the Bancroft Fish & Game Club on Saturday evening.  A great meal will be served until everyone is fed – free to all workers. Starts at 8 PM and goes until everyone is finished their work and fed.

If you have not paid for your subsidized accommodations, please bring cash to  Worker Registration. We have a dedicated Worker Registration table again this year, headed up by Carole Koch. If you owe money, she will be happy to receive it.

Reminder that we need help on Sunday at 10 AM for cleanup. With lots of volunteers it will all be done by noon.
