SCCA Maine Forest Rally, Aug 1-2.

Typically about 100 teams enter this event, organised by the "legend" John Buffum. A s the crow flies, 417 km from Ottawa. I hear it takes about 5-6 hours to drive to Rumford, Maine. Night stages run Friday night, day stages are on Saturday, party Sat. night, Sunday drive home.

I have signed up to work this event with the HAM radio.  I'd really like to see a SCCA ProRally, and learn more about how these events are organised.  I will go it alone, but wouldn't mind going with another rally freak to enjoy the fun.  I'll be leaving from Ottawa on the Friday morning if anybody wants to meet up.  We can convoy, or share the ride and gas.  I plan on camping at a campground near the event.

ps - I'd sort of expect some tribute to Mark Lovell and Roger Freeman, might be nice to see first hand.
