The 2003 Ontario-Quebec Independent Championship
11/28/2 at 07:56:21

The purpose of  the 2003 Ontario-Quebec Independent Championship is to encourage inter-provincial competition between Ontario and Quebec and is aimed at the lower budget independent teams. There will be sponsorship to pay for the year-end awards from the Kitchener-Waterloo Rally Club, Neutron Computers and Indel Controls.

The organizers and administrators of the Ontario-Quebec Independent Championship are Scott Comens and Martin Loveridge. The championship is not sanctioned by CARS, RSO, RSQ, ASN Canada any other governing body.

We have listed eight events that qualify for the championship, four each in Ontario and Quebec. All scoring will be based on the regional portion of each event, even if you are not entered in the regional portion. (So for Quebec events, you can still enter the national, we will just extract the scores as if you ran the regional) The events were picked to minimize the cost to the entrant while still providing an interesting level of competition.

Qualifying events
Feb 7-9 Rallye Pierce Neige                     Quebec
May 3   Georgian Trials                 Ontario
June 1  Black Bear Rally                        Ontario

Sept 5-6        Rallye Defi Ste-Agathe          Quebec

Other rules
Your best 5 events will be counted
You must start at least two events in each province to be eligible
You must register for the championship before your first qualifying event
There is no registration or other fees to the entrants
There is no requirement to belong to any club
Drivers and Co-drivers must register independently.
The administrators' decisions are final.

Eligible Classes
P1, P2, P3, P4, Group 2
To keep it a low cost series we will not score Group N, A or open Classes.

Scoring
Driver and Co-driver will score independently.
Scoring in each class will be: 9 points for a win, 6 points for second, 4 points for third, 3 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth and 1 point for sixth.
Two points for starting an event. (Remember, only your best 5 events count) Competitors will also be scored for an overall champion on a 20,15,12,10,8,6,4,3,2,1 points basis
Scores will be based only on competitors registered in the championship. If you come third in the rally but are the top competitor in the championship you get maximum points.
If you DNF then you only get starting points.
The series is only for the year end awards, there are no individual event awards planned.
