Tall Pines Worker Nov 20 14
11/20/14 at 22:56:58

We are just over a week away from the 2014 Rally of the Tall Pines.  At this point we have about 205 volunteers on our list (just slightly more than this time last year).  If everyone shows up, we will have enough to get by, but we could use about another 5 radio operators for mid-stage Traffic Control positions and about 5 more people to assist with security and crowd control. We are fine for Thursday and Friday. If you have been holding off for whatever reason or know of someone who would be willing to assist, have them contact me at ross attallpinesrally dot com
We have just posted your Worker Assignments on the Tall Pines website and directions for meeting your stage teams, but in the interest of protecting your privacy, we have created two hidden links at

http://www.xxxxxxxx

http://www.xxxxxxxxx

If you have any difficulty accessing these links, contact us directly at   worker_registration at tallpinesrally dot com

Please do NOT pass these links on to others. If you find any problems with your assignments, get back to us ASAP. Note – preparing the assignments is a very complex task. A change for one volunteer almost always has a domino effect, so unless there is a real problem with your assignments, we would appreciate if you would accept them as they are. We really did try to accommodate all your requests, as best we could.

We will now work on assigning the Thursday & Friday jobs. For those of you coming to help on Thursday and Friday, I will be sending out separate instructions in a few days.

Things are shaping up really well for next weekend. We have a smaller number of entries than we would like, but it is a quality field  - check it out in the Competitor section of the Pines website - a really hot competition is shaping up.  The roads are in great shape and snow covered. At this point I wouldn’t want to predict if they will be snow-covered, part gravel or what next weekend. Early next week we should know better. Nevertheless we highly recommend that you have your winter tires on.

Remember that the general Worker Meeting will be held at 9 PM on Friday at Rally HQ in the Dungannon Rec Centre.   For those of you coming for the first time, Rally HQ is located on the E side of Hwy 62 S about 7 km S of Bancroft (street address is 26596 Hwy 62 S, L’Amable, ON – coordinates N45 00.873 W077 47.164 phone 613-332-1325).  There will be lots of giveaways at the Worker Meeting, including a kayak courtesy of Clear Water Design.

For those of you who will be working controls, be sure to bring with you a flashlight or headlamp and spare batteries.

For the HAM operators, the main frequency for the weekend will be 147.285+ with a tone of 118.8. The two other repeater frequencies are 146.610- with a tone of 100.0, the solar repeater on 147.180 + (no tone) and 147.000 (no tone). Simplex frequencies are 146.520, 146.550 and 146.580. Be sure to have them all programmed in your radio.

As for the Subsidized Worker Accommodations , Elmers and Limerick Lake Lodge are full, but there are a few spots left at Cedar Ridge Camp. Sign up in the Worker Section of the website. If you have problems, contact Trish at accommodations@tallpinesrally.com

There will likely be one final Worker Notice next Tuesday or Wednesday.
