The 2012 CARS Rulebook was available at the CARS AGM on the weekend. You will receive one when you purchase a competition licence or you can order one directly from the CARS Office - office@carsrally.ca or 855-640-6444.

In addition to a number of rule changes in the new book, a number of additional changes were decided on the weekend. These will all be announced in a Bulletin in the near future. Two of particular interest to competitors are:

(1) Effective immediately BSI helmets are approved for a period of 10 years from the date of manufacture. In order for this to apply, the date must be indicated by the manufacturer inside the helmet.

(2) Due to numerous infractions in 2011, the penalty for not following any part of the the triangle rule (17.9) has been beefed up. Failure to put out a triangle when stopped in a stage and failure to stop to check on the well-being of occupants of a car stopped in a stage where there is no triangle and OK sign will result in a 10 minute penalty and a $500 fine.
