WORK DAY DETAILS Oct 16 10
10/13/10 at 23:03:43

This Saturday,  October 16th,  is our Work Day in Bancroft for the Rally of the Tall Pines.  There are a number of tasks to be done in Bancroft on Saturday including:
•      Posting road closure notices as required by our road permission contracts
•      Delivering letters to residents on the public roads that are used as stages
•      Checking stage roads and our security notes about them
•      Doing minor repairs to stage roads,  including filling some minor washouts and removing exposed rocks
•      Brushing and other preparation of spectator areas
•      Testing HAM repeater system
•      Removing trees that are hanging too close to the road
•      Various errands in Bancroft
We can use lots of bodies to assist with these tasks.  According to our records, you have already volunteered, either according to your  Worker Profile,  by email or by word of mouth. If you are already committed to a specific task, please advise me ASAP by e mail.If it turns out you will not be attending, please email me.
Morning Meeting Location:
On Saturday we will meet at The Golton Spectator Stage between 10:00 and 10:30 A.M.  To get there go south on Hwy. 62 for about 2.5 km from Bancroft. Turn left into the Fish & Game Club driveway. If you come to the ESSO or the Shell station, you have gone slightly too far.Coordinates are N45 02 432  W 077 49 803
Afternoon Meeting Location:
If you can’t come until later in the day or miss us,  try to contact us on the radio or by phone (cell reception is really sketchy out on the stages). You can look for us on the Egan Creek stage roads. Follow Hwy 62 south from Bancroft for about 10 km. Turn Left onto Upper Turriff Rd. Go about 10 km to the beginning of the Egan Creek roads complex.. Some of the roads that we will be working on include Swordfingal, V Lake, Grassy Lake Trail, Birch Lake Trail and Arda Trail.
Be Prepared:
Come well prepared with food,  drink and lots of warm clothing.  Gloves are advised.  If you have any tools like shovels, rakes, picks and pry bars, saws or clippers,  please bring them along.
HAM Radio Frequencies:
For those of you who have HAM radio,  the frequency for the day will be 146.610- tone 100.0  with 146.580 simplex as back-up.
Worker Registration:
If you have not already signed up on the Worker Information Center website and updated or created a worker profile for this year's event, please do so if you can help us again this year. Visit www.tallpinesrally.com and click on “Workers“. We really heavily on that profile for our planning. If you have any difficulty with that, contact, contact me directly at ross@tallpinesrally.com
Thanks in advance for helping on Saturday.
