Ontario Winter Rally School

Ontario Winter Rally School
Organized by Fred Weidner, taught by multi North American champion and the King of Snow himself:
FRANK SPRONGL
The course was completely sold out and was held this past weekend.
Although the warm conditions were not ideal, it was amazing to get driving tips from Frank's sensational rally career.
The highlight of the day was an opportunity to get Frank's in-car instruction over a 2.0 km rally course.
The 2.0 km course allowed us to put all of the skills learnt throughout the day to test:
slow speed corners
high speed corners
S- bends
pendulum turns
left foot braking
etc.
Thank you for a great day Frank

How come it wasn't advertise anywhere?
Is there going to be another one in the future?

I believe Fred's intention was to run the first one as a trial school, to see what works and what doesn't, which format to adopt, what's most useful to participants, and the general suitability of the terrain to exercises (i.e. proximity of trees to track, good corners to practice on etc). This is why it wasn't heavily advertised. I think the plan proved itself a good one, as there was definitelly a lot of learning from the organizational side, and only at the end of the day we've hit on the format that's optimal for learning. Hopefully, he'll incorporate these findings and organize another school or set of schools in the future... I know we're all rather eager, myself most definitelly included. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to express your enthusiasm for the idea in here

If you understand what you are doing, you aren't learning anything!

When the class is offered again, you can count me in.

I beleive the reason this was not advertised was because this was a private event put on by an individual. It was not put on by any club that I know of, nor was it on the RSO calander. If it had been organized by a club or RSO you would of seen it advertised.
That said, Fred's idea of having a course is a good one. Perhaps one could be organized as a club event within the parameters of a sanctioning body.
