Co-driver needed for Pierce-Neige
01/08/7 at 09:29:19
Hello!
Looking for a co-driver to do the Pierce-Neige rally this coming month. Preferably someone with access to a race suit and helmet. Safe driver just looking to have a little fun.
Thanks for your help.
Please send email to alpine.rally@hotmail.com.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Luis

Thanks for all the emails. Here's some more information as requested in your emails:
Previous Rally Experience
- Rally Sprint Championship in 95 + 97
Vehicle
- Lada Samara 1.5 (Ex Lada Canada factory car)
- P2
Planned Races for 07
- Ontario Regional Championship (details to be worked out)
I will be attending the 50th Anniversary party on Saturday and I can meet anyone interested there or just send me another email if you are seriously interested.
Thanks again.
Luis

I'm Russian and I drove Ladas quite a bit...
Why would you pick a Lada for a performance rally?
In Russia people drive them because they are cheap and cheap to fix. But I can't say they are reliable. And, I assume, they won't be too affordable to maintain in North America...
I'm just curious...

This car in particular is the car ACP learned to drive in before moving to his Evo.

The guy who taught me to drive back home (not rally, just in town) - used to rally Ladas.. I'm sure they are great, but why use Lada in Canada?

Why not?
1. As I understand the car is a well-sorted former Lada Factory Car that won the old P1600 championship several years ago.
2. As Ryan said ACP owned the car for several years and had his learning years in it.
3. It was probably inexpensive to buy. The last time I saw it advertised it was $3000 and it came with a fairly extensive spares package.
The new owner may give us more info than this.

Leo! You should bring one 2107 Lada or a VFTS. That would be nasty. Monsters from Vilnius

There is a Lada 2105 (almost the same as 2107) for sale in Peterborough!
