There is lots to do. Most of our time will be spent removing loose and protruding rocks from the road surface, smoothing out rough areas and holes, filling in some washouts, trimming off broken trees, clearing the path through the woods to the spectator area. We also have to post road closure notice and deliver cottager letters.
If you can it would be helpful to bring the following tools - shovels, pickaxes, prybars, clippers and saw.
The radio frequency we will be using is 146.775-
Bring your own food and drink for the day and work gloves. Don’t forget bug repellant. There were almost no bugs the last time I was there, but it’s best to come prepared. Wear light coloured clothing if you can.
We will meet between 9:30 and 10:00 A.M. at the back of the ESSO/Convenience Store at Carnarvon - junction of Hwy. 35 and Hwy. 118.
If you arrive late, proceed north approximately 20 km. on Hwy. 35 to Pine Springs Rd.
Turn left on Pine Springs Rd. and head west until you find us. If you are really late go about 15 km. on Pine Springs Rd. to the Black River bridge, then 200 metres past the bridge, turn north on Ril Lake Rd. and drive until you find us.
See you Saturday.
