What exactly is "tractionized" anyway? (Pardon my ignorance)

they spin the wheels up to some serious speeds and temperatures and literally melt the tires for some AMAZING grip levels, but they don't last long, maybe a couple hundered kms at the MOST!
so only used for the rally stages
not streetable...

The spinning part is correct but the tires are not run at a very high speed on the tractionizer. The tread isn't 'melted' per se, but instead it is kinda picked apart by the spikes on the tractionizer drums (the end result does appear melted, I suppose). On ice, they are untouchable.

I'll agree with Mark (my old man). If you can afford to go through lots of snow tires in a season, tractionizing is the way to go. They hook up amazingly well (especially with 15psi in the tires
). It basically feels like driving on gravel. We used them on our ice racer, and did really well.
The only bad side is the obvious wear issue. If the tires are only used for the rallies though, I'd consider it.

one thing whit tractionised tires...its that its good for ice ONLY...
from what the pros have told me...if your running on tractionised tirea and there is snow...your better trow your self in the safest snow bank you see...
so...if you choose to have some tires tractionised...dont forget to bring...regular snow tires too.
