Hello Everybody,

The 2014 edition of the Lanark Highlands Forest Rally is less than a month away (May 2nd and 3rd) and it will mark the 40th anniversary of the WRC event, Rally of the Rideau Lakes, run on the same road in 1974. The competitive portion of the rally will take place as usual on Lavant Mill Road with a total of 6 stages. In addition, this year will also include TSD teams!

We are currently assigning roles and hope to fill positions, as quickly as possible with people such as yourself. As you know, in order successfully run the event again, we need:

· amateur radio operators,
· timing marshals,
· traffic control marshals and
· crowd control marshals
· we also need some help on Friday the 4th to help with taping, signage, arrowing and recce.

This rally has been very lucky in attracting dedicated volunteers, without whom the Lanark Highlands Forest Rally could never have been a success year after year. We couldn't do it without you!

If you know anyone who has never volunteered at a rally and is curious to know more, please feel free to pass along this information to them. To help newcomers, we produced two short videos about rally marshalling which can be viewed at these links:
