The 2002 Pines is turning into a very big event. As a result, there are virtually no rooms left in the Bancroft area. So, we thought it would be a good idea to create a forum where competititors & workers could post any available rooms or space that you have. It is normal for some cancellations to come up as we get closer to the rally weekend.

When we stayed at the Paudash Shores cottages last year - there were several additoinal cottages that were not opened up - because of lack of demand.

It might be worth a call. It's "rustic" but close and affordable!

We just found out that the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce offers an accomodations service and can let you know the closest available place.

For those of you looking for rooms, please contact them first.

I have just been contacted by Steenburg Cottages regarding an available cottage 25 minutes south of Bancroft on Steenburg Lake. The cottage has 8 bedrooms and sleeps 16 people. If you are interested in renting the cottage please contact Tia and Jim at 613-474-1164. Cottages are a cheap way to stay the weekend and watch the whole rally!

We received a call from the Martin Wood Resort (located about 20 minutes North of Bancroft). They still have rooms available for Friday night.

I'm staying in Barry's Bay which is about a 45min drive north of Bancroft. There may be rooms available there.

I just booked a room yesterday for Fri and Sat night at Martin Resort. They had some cancellations and might still have rooms left.

Joseph's Resort (South Baptiste Lake road) has 2 - 3 rooms available for Friday and Saturday nights due to cancellation.

Speaking of accomadations...anyone know how to get to the hunt lodge for workers? I have no idea where to go except it is on or very near the egan creek stages...
