Wheel & Tire Zone Mini Rally Series

Maple Leaf Rally Club announces the 2010 GTA Wheel & Tire Zone Mini-Rally Series. This is a set of seven monthly navigational rallies held on good quality gravel and paved country roads just north of Toronto.

For 2010, there will be some more exciting changes to the events.

2010 Highlights:

• Compete in one of 2 Classes: Novice and Experts
• Novice Class - No specialized Rally speed/distance/average speed calculating equipment is allowed. You must rely on your vehicle's speedometer and odometer
• All equipped cars must compete in the Expert Class

The Mini Rally Series Events:

• Remain Fun-Focused - simpler instructions, easier navigation and fun driving
• Offer Winter Driving - 3 Mini-Rally's will be held during the winter months - January, February and March. Winter Tires and safety triangles are required!

This is the way navigational rallying is meant to be: fun, inexpensive, and an interesting drive. This is your opportunity to enter this sport at the grassroots level.

Registration:

The Registration desk opens at 6:30 PM on the evening of the event. The following items are required:

• Car ownership (or written permission from the owner)
• Proof of valid automobile insurance
• Valid Drivers License
• A clipboard, pen, paper and digital watch are very useful. Map lights and calculators are also handy
• Tire and triangle expectations as above

Start Times:

Car 1 will start at 8:01 PM and is due back at the finish by about 10:15 PM. The rallies are approximately 100 kilometres in length.

Entry Fee:

Entry fee is $25 per vehicle. Discounts of 50% off and 75% off are available for the 6^th and 7^th events in 2010.

Awards:

Trophies will be presented to the Top 3 finishers of each rally in each of Novice and Expert classes.

Series championship points are also awarded at the following rate:

1^st Place: 10 Points

2^nd Place: 9 Points

3^rd Place: 8 Points

4^th Place: 7 Points

5^th Place: 6 Points

6^th Place: 5 Points

7^th Place: 4 Points

8^th Place: 3 Points

9th Place: 2 Points

10^th Place: 1 Point

Workers points are available to teams that compete in two Mini-Rally or more.

Series Championship:

The best 5 of 7 events will determine the Class Championships, with Championship Plaques to be awarded at the end of the calendar year.

Sponsors' promotional items may also be distributed at all events. Competitors must be present at the end of the rally to qualify for the draw. From time to time, other prizes may be available.
